Yeah, Miz Long keeps telling me I need to write. She’s probably correct. No, she is correct – I do.
About the only place I’ve been writing much at all the last year or so has been on a couple of web sites dealing with Texas football. And when I say “Texas”, I mean The University. Never mind, you either get it or you don’t, and I don’t care one way or another.
So… uhhh… back again, writing again. As before, I’ll be writing in several places, and this time I’ve got a partner who’s going to be helping me, a guy I’ve known quite a while, who’s at least somewhat knowledgeable about using computers and distributing stuff using them. He’s just retired from a whole lot of computer shit, and he’s getting into publishing… and of all the gin joints in the world, he walks into mine. I’m going to call him by his nom de plume, Boli – short for Bolivar T. Shagnasty.
I’ve got a “thing” I’ve been working with and working on for several years, as “thing” that deals with cutting way, way down on verbosity, as a means to trying to get ideas across in a more accessible fashion. You can tell from what I’ve written here so far that I’m not practicing the thing right this instant. But I have a good bit of stuff that is written using the thing. Boli’s read most of it, and he’s convinced me that we should publish it. Actually, he’s been pinging on me to do this, and I’m finally convinced that we can.
Neither of us has much of an inclination to deal with the so-called Social Media, but it’s a near-certainty that doing that is exactly what is needed to get the thing out in public view… so that’s what we’re going to do. I reckon we’ll start with the bigguns, which I call TwitFace, and follow up as quickly as we can with Reddit, Pinterest, LinkedIn and others.
Any road, it’s coming, and it’ll be sooner rather than later (whatever that means).
